Dr. Khalid Mehmood 25th August 1976 - 5th February 2015
Dr. Khalid Mehmood was a graduate of 2nd Batch of BDS -1998. He had a great sense of humour and was a popular student. He also worked as a member of KMDC faculty and was well liked by his students. Khalid died at a young age and this wing has been named in his memory by his friends.
Our past career guidance sessions
Medical career guidance session 2019A career guidance session was held for MBBS students, on the 8th of July 2019. The objective of this session was to equip the institutions current students with the knowledge required to make well informed decisions regarding postgraduate studies. The session started with a presentation introducing the Alumni Association and its dedicated members. A touching tribute to Dr. Irfan was included to showcase the work he had put in for the alumni.
Dr. Erum Sohail, Dr. Danish Bawa, Dr. Sharjeela Tariq, Dr. Naveed Ahmed, and Dr. Qurut-ul-Ain Sabir gave guidance for pursuing medical career in different parts of the world . The Emergency Skills Course for final year students was also introduced.
Dental Career guidance session 2019A career guidance session for BDS Undergraduates and Postgraduates was conducted on the 22nd August in the Ishtiaq Auditorium, KMDC and organised by the KMDC Alumni Association. The aim of this session was to inform the students about the various pathways that they can choose for their postgraduate studies including FCPS, UK, USA etc.
Dr Khalid Mehmood Educational Wing was inaugurated by the Principal of KMDC, Dr Mehmood Haider. Dr Khalid’s brother Wing Commander (Retd) Tariq Atiuallah was invited to give a touching speech and shared many memories he had shared with his brother. Professor Hasnain Sakrani (Principal AIDM) and Professor Arshad Hussain came to support the inauguration.

Skill laboratories offer a 'mistake forgiving' training environment and help ensure all students acquire the necessary techniques and are properly assessed before practicing on real patients. A skills lab is being set up at KMDC in the memory of Dr Muhammed Irfan Farooque. We are very grateful to our alumni friends and families who have donated generously for this cause. The lab will be unveiled in December 2019.
A comprehensive programme of various life saving courses designed for final year students. This programme was the brain child of Dr Irfan Farooque who in the last few days of his life, collaborated with organisers of this course, to secure the best deal for KMDC students. The objective is to equip our students with resuscitation and life saving skills and to make them ready to deal with such situations competently during their clinical practice. The programme will include lectures and hand on practicals for BLS, ATLS, ALS, and PALS. Small group sessions will be held with 4 sessions being held each week for 20 weeks. Certificates will be awarded to successful candidates after course completion
The KMDC alumni association has collaborated with a very popular PLAB course organisers in the UK. This scheme will offer KMDC graduates a low cost, flexible payment option where candidates can register at a much lower fee. They will be provided full training for PLAB 2 along with accommodation. KMDC graduates will have the option of paying the rest of the fee in installments once they have passed the exam and secured a job in the UK . This scheme has been named after Dr Irfan Farooque by the course organisers themselves to show their love and affection for Irfan.
